Booking & Your $35 Deposit
Booking with us is simple: call or fill out the quote form, we confirm your date and crew, and a $35 deposit locks it in. The deposit is non-refundable — it holds your spot on the calendar.
- How to book
- Call (404) 441-2714 or send the quote form. We confirm your date, crew size, and price before anything is final — what we quote is what you pay.
- The $35 deposit
- A $35 deposit reserves your crew and your move date. The deposit is non-refundable: it covers the scheduling commitment of holding the date. If your plans change, call us as early as you can and we'll work with you on a new date.
- No long contracts
- There is no long-term contract and no cancellation penalty beyond the deposit. Hourly moves are billed by the package you chose — nothing gets signed away for months.
- Same-day moves
- Need a crew today? Same-day moves are available whenever a crew is free, for a flat $50 rush fee on top of the normal rate.
- Arrival window
- Your crew calls in route on move day. Afternoon appointments get a 1-hour arrival window — Atlanta traffic is real, and we'd rather promise a window than a minute.
Payment — Pay After the Move
You don't pay the balance until the job is done. When the last item is placed and you're happy, payment is collected in cash or card.
- Balance due after the move
- The full balance is due once the move is complete — cash or card, your choice. No prepayment, no paying before your things arrive.
- Fuel included for the first 20 miles
- Your rate covers fuel for the first 20 miles from your starting location, along with equipment and insurance. Beyond 20 miles, each additional mile is $1 — and we tell you that number before we start.
- Extras, quoted up-front
- The only things that add cost are things that change the job itself — see the additional fees below. Every one is a flat, published fee, quoted before we lift a single box.
- Extra hours
- If your move runs longer than the included hours, additional time is billed at your package's posted hourly rate — $120/hr (2 movers), $150/hr (3 movers), or $175/hr (4 movers). We tell you where you stand as the day goes.
Additional Fees
Most moves never touch these. They apply only when the job changes from what was quoted — and we always tell you the number before we do the work.
- Notify us of any changes
- Your quote is based on the information you give us. If anything changes — additional items, extra stops, different floors or stairs, extra trucks or trailers, or items at a location not in the original agreement — let us know before move day so we can re-quote and avoid extra fees.
- Additional stops — $25 each
- $25 per additional stop, per request, beyond the pickup and drop-off included in your quote.
- Third floor and above — $50
- Moves involving a 3rd floor or higher (stairs) add a flat $50 to cover the extra time and effort. First and second floors are included in your rate at no charge.
- Insurance certificates (COI) — $25
- Many buildings require a Certificate of Insurance before move day. If a COI is needed and wasn't already discussed when booking, it's an additional $25.
Rates & Billable Time
We keep billing simple and honest. Your package price covers a fixed set of hours with a full crew and truck; anything beyond that is billed at the posted hourly rate.
- Our crew packages
- 2 movers + 16-ft truck: $300 covers the first 2 hours, then $120/hr. 3 movers + 26-ft truck: $900 covers the first 3 hours, then $150/hr (3-hour minimum). 4 movers + 26-ft truck: $1,000 covers the first 4 hours, then $175/hr (4-hour minimum).
- When the clock starts
- Billable time starts when the crew arrives at your first location and ends when the final item is placed at your last stop — that's the industry-standard way hourly moves are measured.
- We work efficiently
- Our crews are trained to move fast without cutting corners. Same crew, same truck, straight through — no wandering off the clock.
Weather & Unexpected Delays
Georgia weather doesn't always cooperate. We move in rain and heat, and we protect your home and belongings while we do it.
- Rain or shine
- We work in the rain — furniture is pad-wrapped and the truck keeps everything dry. Heat is a normal Georgia summer for us, too.
- Severe weather
- For ice, severe storms, or conditions that make the roads unsafe, we may need to reschedule. In that case we'll rebook you at the earliest available date and your deposit stays with your booking.
- Building delays
- Waiting on a freight elevator or a loading dock isn't billed at a penalty rate — it's simply part of the hourly job. Reserve elevators ahead of time and we'll use the time well.
Your Part on Move Day
A little preparation makes the day faster — and faster means a smaller bill. Here's what helps most.
- Access & parking
- Make sure the truck can park close and doors can open fully. For apartments and high-rises, reserve the freight elevator and loading dock with your building and ask whether a certificate of insurance is needed — we provide COIs fast.
- Packed & labeled
- Have your boxes packed, sealed, and labeled before the crew arrives. We move what you've packed and can box a few fragile items on request.
- Valuables & documents
- Keep cash, jewelry, passports, medications, and important documents with you — movers don't transport personal documents or valuables.
- Be present
- Someone 18 or older should be at both locations to answer questions and confirm where everything goes. At the end, we do a walkthrough together before the balance is collected.
Items We Can't Move
For safety — ours and yours — there are a few things that can't ride in the truck.
- Hazardous materials
- Gasoline, propane tanks, kerosene, paint, chemicals, pool supplies, and other flammable or hazardous materials can't be transported. They're illegal to carry in a moving truck and dangerous to your other belongings.
- Ammunition & firearms
- We do not transport ammunition or firearms.
- Live animals & plants
- Pets travel with you — they're safer in your car. Most houseplants do best riding with you as well; we can't guarantee climate conditions in the truck.
- Everything else
- Pianos, safes, gun safes, exercise equipment, appliances, and art are all welcome — that's the work we do every day. If you're unsure about an item, ask.
Care of Your Belongings
We treat your home and your things like our own — and we're licensed and insured on top of that.
- Licensed & insured
- Compass Liberty Express is registered under U.S. DOT #2988642, and cargo and liability insurance coverage is included in every move — never billed separately.
- Protection included
- Furniture pads and blankets, floor runners, and door jamb protectors come with every crew at no extra charge. Disassembly and reassembly of furniture are included too.
- If something goes wrong
- Tell us the same day if anything arrives damaged — report it at the walkthrough or call (404) 441-2714 right away. We take care of our customers, and we make it right.
- How claims work
- A claim can't exceed the total cost of your move unless additional insurance coverage is purchased. Point out high-value, fragile, and sentimental items to the crew before we start so we can discuss extra coverage options where they're warranted.
- What standard coverage doesn't cover
- Items with pre-existing conditions (loose legs, wobbly parts, worn condition) can't be claimed, and we don't assume liability for them. Unpacked electronics and unboxed items — TVs, pictures, lamps — should be boxed or bagged; we recommend TV boxes. IKEA and pressed-wood furniture isn't covered because of how those materials fail. Let us know before the move if you have a lot of glass furniture so we can plan extra protection.
- Our crews
- Our movers are background-checked, and trained on our equipment — not day labor pulled together the morning of your move.
